Kicking off the VERTI-GO project in Gothenburg
The EU-backed VERTI-GO project officially began on 1 October 2025, marking an exciting new chapter in advancing floating wind innovation. To celebrate the launch, consortium partners gathered on 21–22 October 2025 at the SeaTwirl offices in Gothenburg, Sweden for a two-day kick-off meeting filled with presentations, breakout sessions, and engaging discussions. The event also offered valuable time for partners to connect, exchange ideas, and build strong foundations for collaboration.
Collaboration lies at the heart of VERTI-GO, and the meeting set the stage for joint efforts to demonstrate SeaTwirl’s 2 MW floating wind turbine technology, covering its design, manufacturing, installation, and operation. SeaTwirl AB leads the technical development of the project, while University College Cork serves as Project Coordinator, bringing together a diverse consortium committed to driving floating offshore wind innovation forward.
The strong engagement and shared vision expressed during the kick-off highlight a promising journey ahead for the VERTI-GO consortium. More communication material will be released as the project progresses—stay tuned for updates, and consider subscribing to the project’s newsletter, which will be issued annually throughout its duration.
