Main Role: UCC acts as the Project Coordinator of VERTI-GO, serving as the main contact with the European Union and providing administrative guidance and support to all project partners. UCC leads the overall project management and day-to-day execution in close collaboration with the consortium. In addition, UCC leads the development and enhancement of advanced operation and maintenance (O&M) modelling and design, covering installation, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of the demonstrator. UCC integrates condition-monitoring data from the Digital Twin into O&M models and develops optimised, upscaled scenarios for future commercial wind farm deployments, with a strong focus on scalability and economic viability.
SEATWIRL AB
SeaTwirl AB is a Swedish energy-tech company within offshore wind power with the purpose to enable floating offshore wind - wherever it is needed. SeaTwirl's unique floating vertical-axis wind turbine has a low centre of gravity, a slim substructure, and a generator house accessible at the sea surface enabling small, cost efficient, and locally available vessels to maintain it. The company is listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market since 2016.
Main Role: SeaTwirl is the inventor of the innovative VAWT technology, and will as owner of the technology act as technical coordinator in the project to ensure alignment to successfully achieve the project technical objectives. SeaTwirl’s main tasks will be to lead the design and procurement process, oversee manufacturing and assembly, and operate the 2MW unit.
BUREAU VERITAS SOLUTIONS UK
BVS is a diverse offshore and marine consultancy that undertakes a wide variety of offshore and subsea focussed engineering projects. They also have dedicated Dynamic Positioning and Rig moving teams supported by a marine team that focusses on vessel inspections, maintenance and operability.
Main Role: BVS contributes to the VERTI-GO project by providing the technical qualification scope, delivering an overall review of all project stages and components. The partner plans and supports the execution of Technology Readiness Level progression across the project and ensures interface compatibility throughout implementation. In addition, BVS assists with transportation and installation activities, supporting the safe and effective deployment of the VERTI-GO demonstrator.
ZORLU ENERJI ELEKTRIK ÜRETIM A.Ş.
Zorlu Enerji is an international integrated energy company based in Türkiye, with over 30 years of experience in electricity generation and distribution, primarily from renewable energy sources such as geothermal, wind, and hydropower. With a total installed capacity of 484,2 MW, Zorlu Enerji operates a diversified portfolio that includes four geothermal power plants (305 MWe), seven hydroelectric power plants (119 MWe), one wind farm (56.4 MWe), one solar power plant (3.8 MWe). Beyond renewable generation, Zorlu Enerji actively contributes to the clean mobility transition with EV charging stations through its ZES (Zorlu Energy Solutions) brand.
Main Role: Zorlu Enerji contributes to the VERTI-GO project by evaluating the real-world feasibility of the proposed technology using practical use cases and analysing economic metrics such as CAPEX and OPEX to assess financial viability. The partner supports the identification of the most promising and commercially attractive application scenarios for the technology. Through its involvement, Zorlu Enerji also strengthens its R&D capabilities and supports leadership in sustainable energy solutions, while helping prepare for Türkiye’s offshore wind target of 5 GW by 2035.
EDP R&D (CNET CENTRE FOR NEW ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES SA)
EDP R&D is the research and development centre of EDP. EDP is one of the greenest vertically integrated utilities in the world, with a global presence and over 30GW of installed capacity (around 90% from renewables). Among other areas, EDP R&D is very active in the topics of renewable energies (including offshore), electrical grids, and flexibility in energy systems. The Centre has carried out work in several EU H2020 and HE projects in all the energy value chain and has proven competencies in cross-cutting topics, such as use cases definition, development of new business models, validation of technologies in a laboratory environment and demonstration in real conditions.
Main Role: EDP R&D contributes to the VERTI-GO project by leading the techno-economic feasibility assessment of the new 2 MW Fixed Vertical Axis Floating Wind Turbine (FVAFWT) demonstrator. The partner evaluates key performance metrics, including CAPEX, OPEX, LCOE, return on investment (ROI), and net present value (NPV), to ensure overall project viability. EDP R&D also co-develops the requirement specifications, translating feasibility outcomes into concrete design criteria, and collaborates on defining and assessing use cases, including scalability to higher capacities. In addition, EDP R&D leads the performance and financial validation phase by analysing operational data to confirm alignment with feasibility expectations and support the scalability of the solution.
SOWENTO GMBH
sowento is an independent engineering consultancy and technology advisor, with its main business fields in wind energy applications, more specific lidar technology and floating offshore wind, as well as control engineering applications. sowento is a spin-off from the University of Stuttgart where the core group of sowento pursued their PhD and contributed significantly to relevant national and European R&D initiatives. The activities of sowento are split into the two business fields lidar technology and floating wind. In all fields modelling, simulation and control solutions are provided to various stakeholders of the wind energy industry.
The strength of sowento is its profound knowledge in floating wind applications especially in integrated modelling and design of wind turbine and floating platform and controller design for floating wind turbines. sowento staff includes specialists from control, aerospace, and offshore engineering.
Main Role: sowento is responsible for conducting performance simulations and verifying the engineering of the 2MW demonstrator. The company will adapt its proprietary SLOW simulation software for VAWTs to support design optimization and will use its OZEA platform as the foundation for the real-time digital twin. sowento will also lead the environmental assessment by performing a comprehensive System Engineering Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). During the operational phase, sowento will manage the global monitoring system, gather performance data, and support the validation of the simulation models.
RELIABILITY AND SAFETY TECHNICAL CENTER
RSTER, founded in 2021, focuses on enhancing the safety and reliability of complex engineering systems across various industries. The company uses a holistic, system-level approach to identify, analyse, and mitigate potential failures throughout a system’s lifecycle. Main Role: RSTER contributes to the VERTI-GO project by developing the data ontology and managing the integration of turbine sensor data into the Digital Twin framework. The partner defines metadata standards and implements real-time data pipelines to ensure accurate, structured, and accessible information flow. RSTER also integrates condition-monitoring data into operation and maintenance models, supporting predictive maintenance and performance optimisation, and provides validated operational data for technical and financial performance evaluation. In addition, RSTER collaborates with other partners to align data architecture, modelling interfaces, and ensure smooth interoperability within the Digital Twin environment.
SUB CONNECTED AB
Sub Connected enables their customers to connect floating green energy to the electricity grid on land. They offer innovative, patented, proven and cost-efficient solutions, with long life and low maintenance combined with marine operations that is faster and cheaper than competing solutions.
Main Role: Sub Connected’s main task is to securely connect SeaTwirl’s vertical wind turbine to the grid by using innovative 66kV cable and hub solutions developed and engineered in the VERTI-GO project.
NEXT FABRICATION APS
Next Fabrications’ mission is to deliver high-quality, competitive parts and systems for the construction and installation of Wind Turbine Generators, both onshore and offshore, and PV-Solar systems.
Main Role: Next Fabrication is responsible for the development of the prototype rotor blade for the VERTI-GO project. The partner leads the design, manufacturing, and supply of moulds and tooling, as well as the manufacturing of prototype blades required for the project’s turbine development and testing.

Main Role: PNO Innovation leads the communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities of the VERTI-GO project. PNO develops and implements the project’s communication, dissemination, and exploitation plan, organises workshops, manages key performance indicators, and works to maximise the visibility and impact of project results. In addition, PNO carries out systematic stakeholder analysis and clustering activities, identifying key investors, industrial actors, and relevant projects, and organising engagement workshops. PNO also contributes to business modelling and development, supporting feasibility analysis, financing strategies, and the commercial exploitation of VERTI-GO innovations.

Main Role: Greenov contributes to the VERTI-GO project by developing a noise prediction model based on the CAD of the wind turbine to estimate noise emissions and assess their impact on the ecosystem during the operational phase. The partner also supports the simulation and adaptation of the SubSea Quieter solution, adapted for the anchor installation of the floating turbine. In addition, Greenov monitors acoustic emissions using a Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) system, based on the communication fibre of the wind turbine.
